Description
VITICULTURE
The grapes used to produce Nuestra Flora come from half a hectare of vertically trained vines on our estate in Nava del Rey, Valladolid. This vineyard is cultivated according to organic and biodynamic farming practices, and is audited and certified by the Organic Agriculture Council of Castilla y León and Demeter Spain.
This red grape variety has been recovered by the Regional Government of Castilla y León, and currently there are only a few hectares cultivated worldwide with this variety.
Estaladiña is a hidden gem of Spanish vineyards, native to the northwest of Spain, specifically the El Bierzo area (León). For decades it was mistaken for Merenzao or the French Trousseau. However, recent genetic studies have shown that it is an independent variety with its own identity.
This unique grape makes this wine one of a kind and gives it great personality.
The vineyard is cultivated using regenerative agriculture with 100% ground cover. Throughout the growing season, the vineyard has been closely monitored, using the minimum possible treatments.
With all these practices, we are able to maintain and increase biodiversity in the vineyard, allowing the grape to express its intrinsic characteristics more authentically.
TASTING NOTES
On the nose, it is very distinctive. Typical varietal aromas stand out, such as moss and grass, reminiscent of the Atlantic forest.
Hints of seaweed also appear.
On the palate, it is a structured yet smooth and elegant wine — round and flavorful, with a very long aftertaste.
